Every new Audi vehicle comes equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) designed to monitor your car's tire pressure and ensure it stays within safe limits set by the manufacturer. If the tire pressure reads too low or too high, the TPMS indicator on the dashboard illuminates, alerting the driver to the hazard posed by under- or over-inflated tires. Why is this important? Proper tire pressure is necessary to maintain your Audi's safety, fuel efficiency, and performance on Chicago roads. Here's what else you should know about your tire pressure:
Curious about what your vehicle's recommended tire pressure is? You can find it on a label inside your driver's side door sill. Of course, you can also contact our service center with any questions you have about your Audi, including its recommended tire pressure.
If the tire pressure is too low, the tire's sidewall can receive damage, which over time will lead to safety and performance concerns—including tire blowout, shorter tire life, and poor fuel economy.
If tire pressure is too high, you can experience poor handling and a rougher ride around Oak Park.
If your TPMS light is illuminated, or if you feel your tire pressure is too high or too low, just stop by the Service Center at Fletcher Jones Audi to have it checked—we don't require an appointment for this complimentary service. If your tire is completely flat, you can call Audi 24-hour Roadside Assistance at 1-800-411-9988 any time.
