- Every 10,000 miles, Audi Minor Maintenance will include an inspection of brake pad thickness
- Every 20,000 miles, Audi Standard Maintenance includes a brake pad inspection + checks for damage and leaks
What's Included in e-tronĀ® Brake Service?
When you make your way to our service center for your 10,000-mile brake inspections, the following checks will be included:
- Brake pad check: Brake pads endure the most wear and tear of any component in your braking system, so they'll need to be checked regularly. Our team will be able to identify when your brake pads need to be swapped.
- Brake fluid change: Every two years, the brake fluid in your Audi e-tronĀ® will need to be changed, regardless of mileage.Ā
- Brake bleeding: As a noted part of the Audi Standard Maintenance package, your brake lines will be inspected to check for any trapped air. Typically, your brake lines will need to be bled every 2-3 years to allow that trapped air to escape.Ā
EV Brake Maintenance Tips
While you'll always need to have your brakes serviced from time to time, there are a few ways you can take care of your brakes to help prolong their lifespan. EV brake maintenance tips include:
- Slow down gradually: If you find yourself always slamming your brakes, you could be putting undue strain on your brakes. Try coasting to a stop to see if this improves the longevity of your brake pads.
- Lighten your load: While Audi models are powerful, adding weight to your vehicle means your brakes have to work that much harder to bring you to a stop.Ā
- Keep up with routine care: Staying consistent with your EV brake maintenance allows our technicians to catch issues before they spiral out of control.Ā
